The next key frame of the same shot as image 1, in exactly the same drawing style, with exactly the same camera, framing, sunny summer light, tree, lamppost, navy boutique, awning, door, display window, bench and burgundy shoe shop, and the same characters: the man, the little girl in the mustard-yellow coat, the ginger kitten on top of the lamppost and the woman inside the shop. A moment later the man has pulled a full-size wooden folding stepladder (the ladder from image 2) out of the tiny red handbag: the open stepladder now stands on the pavement right next to the lamppost, between the lamppost and the man, taller than him, its top step just below the lantern where the kitten still clings. The man rests one hand on the ladder and still holds the tiny red handbag in his other hand, calm and dignified, one eyebrow raised. The little girl has stopped crying and stares at the ladder with her mouth wide open in amazement. Inside the display window the woman now holds a green dress against herself at the mirror. Each person has exactly two arms and two hands. No text, no letters, no logos.
